The large natural stands of hardwood maple trees that produce pure maple syrup are found almost exclusively in the north-eastern section of North America, and especially in the province of Quebec, in Canada. It was in 1974 that Shady Maple Farm first started processing pure maple syrup in Beauce County, the heart of Quebec's maple syrup production area.
